Funeral services for Mr. Charles V. Martin, Jr. will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Holmes-Glover-Solomon Chapel.

Mr. Martin was a faithful and devoted member of Blakely Memorial Church of Christ Written in Heaven, for many years. He was employed by Ponte Vedra Inn and Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, where he served in dining services management. After 44 years of dedicated and professional service, he retired from Ponte Vedra Inn and Club. Additionally, Mr. Martin honorably served his country as a member of the United States Air Force.

Mr. Martin is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Elizabeth Martin, who tenderly loved and diligently cared for him throughout his long-term illness.

He is also survived by his five daughters: Shirena Smith (Terry), Connie Gloster (James Jr.), Marcella Kelly (James), Angela Gloster (Keith), and Vernicia Martin; and his grandchildren; Morgan Whickman (Matthew), Taylor Smith, Jarrod Gloster, and Gabriella Gloster. He leaves to cherish his memory his great-grandchildren: Luna Casbeer, Lowen Whickman, Poppy Whickman, and Tatum Whickman.

Mr. Martin is also survived by his siblings, Ernest Martin (Mattie) and Ann Gibson; his bonus sisters, Linda Gant and Sylvia Griffin-Betts; his sisters-in-law, Hattie Gordon, Hassie Ishman, Sara Oglesby, and Minnie Edenfield; and his brothers-in-law, Horace Williams, Jr., and Willie L. Williams

Mr. Martin leaves a legacy of other relatives and friends, including his long-time caregiver, Mrs. Albertha Ferrell.

Visitation will be held at the mortuary on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Jacksonville National Cemetery on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
