Thomas was born on September 12, 1933, in Eufaula, Alabama. In 1957, he married the love of his life, Alice Denson, and they moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where they built their life together and raised four daughters. Thomas was a dedicated employee of the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) for 35 years. After retirement, he continued to stay active, working for several years as a school bus driver and occasionally as a contract driver for JTA. He enjoyed working with his hands and was especially known for making checkerboards for the JTA drivers’ room and for others to enjoy.

On September 14, 2026, the Lord called Thomas to eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alice Denson; his parents, May Della and Isaac Denson; and his nine siblings.

He leaves to cherish his memory his four devoted daughters, Constello Denson-L’Heureux, Thomasena Denson-Dorsey (Fred), Lea Denson-Griffin (Henry), and Alyce Denson; seven grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives, former coworkers, and many dear friends

The visitation will be held in the mortuary on Friday, September 25, 2026 from4:00PM-7:00PM. The celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 11:00AM in the Emanuel Missionary Baptist Church, where he held membership. The final disposition of burial will be in the Evegreen Cemetery.

In the time of personal loss, the beloved family has elected to locally entrust the Ministry of Comfort & Care, along with transitional after-care arrangements to Holmes-Glover-Solomon Funeral Directors, Inc.
