In humble submission to the will of God, we announce the earthly transition of Bernis Clay Thornton, Sr. on December 19, 2024. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 12:00PM in the Rosa Glover Holmes Memorial Chapel. He was employed by DeMont Paint and Body with 30 years of dedicated service. He is survived by his children, Alicie Thornton-Wilson (Reginald Sr.), Bernis Thornton, Jr., Earl Thornton, Patricia Debary (Gage), Brandon Avant; grandchildren, Reginald Wilson, Jr., Denzel Wilson, Isaiah Thornton, Earl Thornton, Jr.; sister, Starlatte Goldner; and a host of other relatives and friends. In the time of personal loss, the beloved family has elected to locally entrust the Ministry of Comfort & Care, along with transitional after-care arrangements to Holmes-Glover-Solomon Funeral Directors, Inc.
