A celebration of life for Mrs. Dorothy Lavon Hayes Reed will be held Friday, April 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM in the Rosa Glover Holmes Chapel (4334 Brentwood Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32206) Rev. Dr. Victor D. Cole of Historic Mt. Zion AME Church, officiating.    Interment-- Edgewood Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the chapel.

Dorothy Lavon Hayes Reed was employed by Independent Insurance Company for 21 years.  She is survived by her loving Spouse-- Robert L. Reed, Siblings-- Roosevelt "Frankie" Hayes (Cheryle) (Orlando), Phyliss D. Mack, Gloria "Freda" Smith, Aunt-- Vivian Jefferson, Uncle-- Herbert Nixon, In-Laws-- Deloris Green Williams, Linda Reed, Jimmy Reed, devoted nieces-- April Green, Persephone Hayes, and TeQuiero Mills, Godchildren-- Lisa Chatman and Freda McCarty, a host of nieces, nephews, loving family and friends.

The family request that you wear bright colors to honor Dorothy the day of the service.

The repast will be held immediately following the interment at Bethel Baptist Institutional Church 215 Bethel Baptist Street.
