Obituary

In humble submission to the will of God, we announce the earthly transition of Eddie Mae Golden on June 3, 2025.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 12:00PM in the Rosa Glover Holmes Memorial Chapel, 4334 Brentwood Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida 32206.

A Phenomenal woman named Eddie Mae Golden called Edna was born November 5, 1956 to the late Bernice Atkinson and Jimmy Golden in Honey Creek, Camden County Georgia.

Edna went to Risley Junior High in Brunswick Ga. where she grew up until she was 13. She then moved to New York to live with her loving Aunt Peggy and graduated from Dubois High School in Manhattan, New York. She continued her education by attending trade schools taking Computer Technology as well as studying to become a LPN. Edna gave her life to Christ at a young age. She loved God boldly with no shame and was glad to share her faith with anyone. She was a Deaconess at her church, West Coast.

As a strong woman she raised her 2 children as a single parent. Her children were the most important thing in her life other than God. Edna worked as a secretary at the longshoreman hall for many years after which she worked as a CPN at a Rehabilitation center. Family was very important to Edna. She was a family historian and spent countless hours researching family history with her cousin and close friend Jacquelyn Thompson.

Eddie Mae Golden is preceded in death by: Sister Barbara Atkinson, Sister Inez Nixon Prince, Brother Alvin "Bubba" Scott

She leaves to cherish her memory and legacy: Aunt Carrie Thompson Fort Lauderdale, Fl., Son Jeremy Johnson of Jacksonville, Fl. and Daughter Sharen Golden of Columbus, Ga. Grandchildren: Jermey Johnson Jr., Jeremiah Johnson, JaMyah Johnson, Elijah Johnson (Jeremy) Heaven Golden, Ezekiel Golden, Kaleb Golden, Michael Golden (Sharon) Nephew Sheik Nixon (Stephanie Nixon).
