In humble submission to the will of God, we announce the earthly transition of Edgar Hightower on November 29, 2024. The celebration of life will be held Friday, December 13, 2024 from First Church of Oakland, Rev. Dr. Christopher McKee, Jr., pastor (1025 Jessie Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206) at 10:30AM.  The visitation will be held Thursday, December 12, 2024 from 2:00-5:00 PM at the chapel and Friday, December 13, 2024 at the church from 9:30-10:30 AM-- (The repass will follow immediately after the service at the church).  Final disposition of burial will be held 2:00 PM at Jacksonville National Cemetery (4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218) with military honors present. In the time of personal loss, the beloved family has elected to locally entrust the Ministry of Comfort & Care, along with transitional after-care arrangements to Holmes-Glover-Solomon Funeral Directors, Inc.
