A celebration of life for Mr. Eric Dean Hicks will be held Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the We're For Jesus House of Prayer (5000 N. Main Street), Bishop Elijah Johnson, Jr., officiating.  Entombment-- Evergreen Cemetery immediately following the service.  Visitation will be Friday, May 31, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Holmes-Glover Solomon Funeral Directors (4334 Brentwood Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32206).

His Life…His Love…His Legacy

Mr. Eric Dean Hicks was born January 2, 1962, to Cora Lee Hicks and Bobbie Lee Hicks in
Clearwater, Florida. He attended Pinellas County schools and graduated from Tarpon
Spring High School. Eric then attended Florida Junior College of Jacksonville and
received his Associate Degree in Business Administration in 1985. He was employed by
the Florida Times Union News Paper Company for over 24 years.

Those close to Eric describe him as unforgettable, known for his DJ skills, cooking,
baking, and humorous jokes that would always bring a smile to anyone's face. He was
genuine, generous, affectionate, strong-willed, and undeniably resilient. With a deep
love for his trinity girls, Eric frequently talked about Ernetta, Adrena, and Sha'Erica as
being some of his biggest accomplishments.

As Eric's trinity reflects on his legacy, they say he taught them many valuable lessons
such as the significance of family, perseverance, patience, humility, forgiveness, and
unconditional love.

Eric transitioned from this life to his eternal home Saturday May 25, 2024.

He is preceded in death by his mother Cora Lee Hicks, father Bobbie Lee Hicks Sr.,
brothers Bobbie Hicks Jr (Lorrine), and Roderick Hicks, Niece Blair Hicks-Cason.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife Dr. Mia Hicks;
children Ernetta Gould (Glen), Adrena McNeill, and Sha'Erica Hicks; grandchildren
Matthew, Arielle, Violet, Symphoni, Harmoni; siblings Timothy Hicks (Queen), Edward
Duncan, Terry Hicks (Early), Rickey Hicks (Sonja), Tara Hicks, Judge Thornton (Debra) and
Clyde Thornton; stepmother Evelyn Hicks; Godchildren Sierra, Antoniwa, Juicy, Kyla,
Gabrielle; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Eric Dean Hicks will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and
loved him.
