Funeral service for Odes L. Burnett will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 10:00AM in the Rosa Glover Holmes Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held the morning service from 9:00AM until the hour of service. Memorialization by cremation.

Mr. Odes Leon Burnett- was born on September 27, 1947 in Jacksonville, Fl to Rev. & Mrs. Odes (Lena Mae) Burnett. On November 8, 2022 the Lord wrapped him up in His loving arms and ushered him into heaven, after a 7 year battle with Mantle Cell Lymphoma Cancer. He attended Duval County schools and graduated from Stanton Vocational High School, class of 1966 and he attended FCCJ in 1976. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a Staff Sgt for 4 years at the McCoy AFB in Orlando, Fl., before being honorably discharged June 18,1971. After being discharged he was employed as a warehouse clerk at Imeson Distribution Warehouse, Jacksonville, Fl. until his health with Kidney failure forced him to retire in 2008.

He fathered 2 beautiful daughters Tracy Byrd-Cook and Cassandra Trenese Burnett-Aaron. He has 4 grandchildren. Not only was he a wonderful, loving husband, he was a phenomenal dad and doting Pawpaw. Odes was a family man through and through. He loved his family passionately, to his dying breath, he made sure his last three living siblings and their children were all ok. So many of our family and friends prayed for Odes' salvation for 40 years, with me and praise God June of 2017 Odes surrendered his heart and life to Jesus Christ and never strayed away. We visited First Baptist Of Progress Village 2 times and the 2 nd time when Pastor Maxwell gave the invitation he took me by my hand to walk the isle, and we joined that congregation. He got involved and started serving on the Hospitality Ministry as an usher, faithfully attended our Tuesday mornings Senior Adults Bible Study, began studying the Word of God faithfully.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. & Mrs. Odes (Lena Mae) Burnett, father-in-law and mother-in-law Mr. & Mrs. Trouser (Ida Bell) Johnson, daughter, Cassandra Trenese Burnett-Aaron, 6 sisters, Emma, Sarah, Carrie, Lucy, Kathryn & Alberta. 2 brothers, Willie and
Rev. Otis Burnett. 6 brothers-in-law, Gordie, Earve Jr. & Charles Johnson, Kenneth Cummings, Johnnie Rogers, Fred Daniels; 2 sisters-in-law, Esther Rosetta Freeman, Olivia Lawson. He leaves to mourn his passing, loving devoted wife Rebecca Johnson-Burnett, daughter Tracy Byrd-Cook, 2 sons-in-law, Curtis Cook & Terrence M. Aaron, 4 grandchildren Isaiah, Hannah & Ryan Cook and his name sake Odes D'ante Burnett, 2 sisters Bessie Walker, Margaret Cummings; 1 brother David Burnett, 1 brother-in-law Oliver Johnson, 1 sister-in-law Shirley Williamson. 2 aunts, Roberta Studds, Kathryn (Willie)Grover. A great host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends and close friends of family.
