It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, "our pineapple", Shayla Monique Neeley on December 14th, 2024, at the age 29. She was the cherished daughter of Sonya Cooper (Brian) and Troy Neeley, Sr. Our beloved Shayla was the loving sister of Lexi Allmon (Hunter), Daniel Esparza, Asia Cooper, Micah Cooper, Casey Johnson, Troy Neeley Jr., Javon Neeley, London Morgan, Arnae Holcomb and Janesha Chandler (Corey). Shayla's rescue dog, Vada, will forever miss her "person".
Born on May 19th,1995 in Las. Cruces, NM, Shayla touched the lives of all who knew her. She had a beautiful and funny personality. She left a legacy of creative touches everywhere she went. Shayla graduated from La Cueva High School, Albuquerque, NM, in 2013. Her first three years of High School and entire childhood was spent in the Edgewood-Moriarty School District where she contributed her talented athletic skills to the volleyball and basketball programs all the way through graduation.
Shayla attended UNM starting a nursing degree and later went to Adorabella Academy and completed the Nail Tech Program in 2022. She was passionate about starting a nail business, that unfortunately never came to fruition.
Shayla was employed with Wells Fargo Bank for many years, beginning her career in Albuquerque, NM and then transferring to Jacksonville, Florida. She made many friendships with co-workers and staff, and she will be greatly missed by the Wells Fargo Family.
Shayla attended Believers Center (BC) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she was a member of, involved with children's ministry and part of the YX/BC Youth since 2003. Shayla shared her new excitement in attending church at Celebration Church in Jacksonville, Florida, where she recently joined a creative small group, had a new group of sisters and brothers in Christ and was also recently water baptized.
Her infectious smile, warm heart, and boundless energy lit up every room she entered. Whether she was painting on canvas, playing sports, fishing, doing nails, doing makeup, making jewelry, or creating a gift for a loved one, singing, or attending a Church service, Shayla brought joy and light into the lives of her family and friends.
She was known for her protective spirit with sweet notes, kindness, creativity, sense of humor, and passionate views about mankind and human life, especially pertaining to her Hispanic, Black, and Native Cultures. Shayla was especially close to all her siblings listed above, her cousin Breezy (Brianna Page) and her amazing friends from work, church and school.
Her absence leaves a profound hole in their hearts. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
