In humble submission to the will of God, we announce the earthly transition of Coach Thomas E. Witherspoon, Sr. on November 15, 2024. A graveside service honoring Coach Witherspoon's life will be held Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 11:00 AM from Restlawn Memorial Park (2600 Ribault Scenic Dr. Jacksonville, FL 32208) Visitation will be held at the mortuary, Wednesday, November 20, 2024 from 4:00- 7:00 PM.

Coach Thomas E. Witherspoon, Sr. was a member of Woodlawn Presbyterian Church USA, where Rev. Don Johnson is the Pastor.  He was employed by Duval County Public Schools, FSCJ, and Edward Waters College now Edwards Waters University.  He retired after many years of service.

He is survived by his children, Tamara N. Witherspoon, Thomas E. Witherspoon, Jr., (Melesa), grandchildren, Avery Witherspoon, II (Javonya), Lillie Witherspoon, Vincent Witherspoon, Jeremiah Witherspoon, Avery Witherspoon, III, and Thomas E. Witherspoon ,III.  siblings, Edith Witherspoon, Delores Williams, and Ann Witherspoon, cousin, Charles Harris, devoted caregivers, Denise Jones and Regina Jones, dedicated friends and neighbors, Alfred Austin, Sr., Carlton Newman, Elroy Green, Archie Gallon, Eddie Rhodes, Alexander Hice, Lawrence Tookes, Kenny Tookes, Mr. & Mrs. James Gamble, Dr. Leroy Polite, Mr. Henry & Mrs. Mattie Yokley, and a host of other relatives and many friends.

In the time of personal loss, the beloved family has elected to locally entrust the Ministry of Comfort & Care, along with transitional after-care arrangements to Holmes-Glover-Solomon Funeral Directors, Inc.
