In humble submission to the will of God, we announce the earthly transition of Valarie Lynette Wilson on November 19, 2024. The visitation will be held in the mortuary on Monday, December 2, 2024 from 4:00PM-7:00PM. The celebration of life will be held Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 11:00AM in the Rosa Glover Holmes Memorial Chapel. She was employed by Duval County Public Schools, where she served for 29 years as an educator. She leaves to cherish her memories, a loving mother, Mildred McElvin; her brother, Frank Wilson; her aunts, Mable Neither, Vivian Hall, Gwendolyn Armstrong (William), Rose Senior, Dorothy Wilson, Bennie Sanders, and Leah Williams (Isaac); uncle, Eugene Barnwell; her special friend, Wayne Harris; and a host of cousins, family members, friends, and former students whose lives she enriched.  The final disposition of burial will be held in the Evergreen Cemetery. In the time of personal loss, the beloved family has elected to locally entrust the Ministry of Comfort & Care, along with transitional after-care arrangements to Holmes-Glover-Solomon Funeral Directors, Inc.
